What Is a GSQI Score — and How Should Parents Use It?

GSQI Assessment Team · 2 Apr 2026

The Ghana School Quality Index (GSQI) is an independent 100-point measure of school quality across ten categories, from Academic Quality to Admissions Transparency.

How schools are scored

Every category is scored 0–100 by trained assessors using documented evidence: lesson observations, results data, parent surveys and site inspections. Category scores are weighted and combined into the overall GSQI Score.

The four rating statuses

  1. Not yet assessed — no score available yet.
  2. Preliminary score — based on public data and parent feedback.
  3. GSQI Verified — key facts checked by our team.
  4. Full assessment — complete on-site inspection.

Our independence promise

Schools can subscribe to premium tools for managing their profile — but no school can pay to change its GSQI score. Commercial services and quality assessment are run by separate teams with a strict firewall.
